Holiday Recycling Tips
Happy holidays, Smyrna!
If you are spending time with your friends and family eating your favorite foods this holiday season, you may find yourself discarding a lot of trash. After eating that delicious turkey and stuffing, remember that the Smyrna Recycling Center can accept the majority of recyclable items used to make your favorite dishes!
Holiday waste impact
Most of us throw away more trash from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day. Instead of discarding materials that will end up in a landfill, you, residents of Smyrna, can make a change by bringing your holiday waste to the Smyrna Recycling Center!
How you can make a difference
Think globally, act locally! The Smyrna Recycling Center is conveniently located at 3475 Lake Drive near downtown Smyrna. The center accepts many recyclable items you might need to discard this holiday season, including plastic and paper plates, plastic utensils, pie tins, turkey trays, broth cartons, creamer cartons, soup cans, and soda cans. Bring harder-to-recycle plastics, such as utensils and plastic cups, in your Hefty EnergyBag. You can purchase a Hefty EnergyBag online or at a local Kroger or Target.
If you have any questions about acceptable items, review our full list of acceptable items here or call our center at (770) 431-2869.
Holiday hours
Please note the center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday but open on Saturday, November 26, 2022.
