Who We Are
Keep Smyrna Beautiful (KSB) began in 1984 and since our inception, we have been the premiere environmental organization within the City of Smyrna. We believe in fostering environmental stewardship by connecting to Smyrna residents through education, environmental awareness, and action. From the city arboretum to the recycling center to ongoing litter reduction efforts, KSB helped create the Smyrna that residents know and love today.
KSB functions as a hybrid organization, with Keep Smyrna Beautiful, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working in partnership with the City of Smyrna’s Environmental Services department. KSB is a local affiliate of both Keep America Beautiful and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation. We are funded by the revenue from the Smyrna Recycling Center, donations, grants, and event sponsorships.
KSB has been recognized at the statewide and national levels for over 30 years. Some of our most distinguished awards include:
- Keep America Beautiful: 2022 Innovation Award: Partnerships, President’s Circle (2003-2024), Sustained Excellence: (2015-2019), First Place: National Affiliate (2003, 2004, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2015-2019), Second Place: National Affiliate (2001, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2012)
- Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation: 2024 Clean Community Champion, Governor’s Circle (2016-2024), First Place: State Affiliate (1997-2010, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2019, Second Place: State Affiliate (2018)
