Pollinator Pockets are designed to bring more habitat for bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators into Smyrna’s neighborhoods. These small but powerful garden spaces add color and life while helping support the native species that keep our ecosystems thriving.
The Sensory Garden creates an inviting space that engages sight, scent, touch, and sound. This garden is designed to be beautiful, accessible, and enriching, offering a calming and interactive experience for people of all ages.
Participate in recycling center tours, educational presentations, and hands-on activities that are both informative and age-appropriate.
Keep Smyrna Beautiful partners with local Smyrna schools to encourage environmental stewardship in the classroom and beyond. Through school grants, educational demonstrations, campus beautification, tree planting, and recycling-focused activities, we help schools inspire students to care for their environment and their community.
Community Cleanups give volunteers flexible opportunities to help remove litter from areas in need across Smyrna. Held two to three times a month, these one-and-a-half-hour cleanups are scheduled at different days and times to make participation easier for busy community members. KSB provides the supplies and training — all you need to bring is your willingness to help.
Storm Drain Marking volunteers help protect Smyrna’s creeks and streams by placing decals on storm drains to remind the public that only rainwater should go down the drain. This self-directed volunteer opportunity is flexible, easy to organize, and makes an important impact on local water quality.
This volunteer effort helps restore native habitats by removing invasive species, clearing debris, and reintroducing native plants and trees. By improving city-owned natural areas and parks, volunteers help support wildlife, strengthen soil, and protect Smyrna’s local ecosystem.
Help grow Smyrna’s urban tree canopy by adopting rescued young trees and seedlings. Trees are distributed to residents, schools, parks, and community groups on a first-come, first-served basis. Recipients are responsible for pickup and planting. It’s a simple way to add beauty, shade, and environmental benefits to our community.
Adopt-a-Mile is a litter reduction and prevention program that helps keep Smyrna’s roadways clean and our waterways protected. Volunteer groups clean their adopted mile at least four times a year, removing litter before it can wash into storm drains and local streams. It’s a great way for civic groups, companies, families, and faith-based groups to make a visible difference in the community.
