Document Shredding
Reducing waste not only conserves valuable resources but also helps protect the environment by cutting down on pollution and conserving landfill space. That’s why Keep Smyrna Beautiful hosts two annual document shredding events, offering a convenient and secure way for everyone to properly recycle sensitive documents. These events are open to all—whether you’re a Smyrna resident or from another community, you’re invited to participate and help reduce waste!
Additional Information
- Paper only
- Participants can bring up to 5 copy paper sized boxes
- Binders, clips, and folders must be removed prior
- Attendees are asked to stay in their vehicles for safety and efficiency.
- The event closes promptly at 12:00pm, vehicles must be in line by 12pm to participate.
- The shredding process: Volunteers collect documents from each vehicle and put them to large receptacles. When full, the contents of the receptacle are dumped into a shredding truck onsite. While all shredding is done onsite, you will not necessarily be able to see your specific documents being shredded, as they will be mixed in with the documents of other people.
