Adopt-a-Mile
Program
End Litter
Adopt-a-Mile (AAM) is a litter reduction and prevention program. When litter on roadways is washed into waterways with stormwater, it pollutes our local water sources, harms wildlife, and makes the city a less beautiful place to live. That’s where Adopt-a-Mile groups come in. Through organized quarterly cleanups, community volunteers remove thousands of pounds of litter along Smyrna roadways every year. Adopt-a-Mile also raises awareness about the issue of litter and helps keep our community clean.
Additional Details
- Adopt-a-Mile groups clean up their adopted mile of roadway at least four times a year. KSB coordinates quarterly dates, but groups can clean as their schedule allows.
- Groups adopt a specific mile of roadway and commit to cleaning it at least four times per year.
- Each group must designate an Adopt-a-Mile Coordinator to recruit volunteers and coordinate their cleanup.
