Pollinator Pockets are designed to bring more habitat for bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators into Smyrna’s neighborhoods. These small but powerful garden spaces add color and life while helping support the native species that keep our ecosystems thriving.
The Sensory Garden creates an inviting space that engages sight, scent, touch, and sound. This garden is designed to be beautiful, accessible, and enriching, offering a calming and interactive experience for people of all ages.
Storm Drain Marking volunteers help protect Smyrna’s creeks and streams by placing decals on storm drains to remind the public that only rainwater should go down the drain. This self-directed volunteer opportunity is flexible, easy to organize, and makes an important impact on local water quality.
This volunteer effort helps restore native habitats by removing invasive species, clearing debris, and reintroducing native plants and trees. By improving city-owned natural areas and parks, volunteers help support wildlife, strengthen soil, and protect Smyrna’s local ecosystem.
Our annual Garden Tour is a signature celebration of Smyrna’s outstanding private gardens and a source of inspiration for anyone who wants to beautify their own home or neighborhood. Each year, the tour highlights creative landscapes, thoughtful planting, and the many ways gardens can support both community and conservation.
Help grow Smyrna’s urban tree canopy by adopting rescued young trees and seedlings. Trees are distributed to residents, schools, parks, and community groups on a first-come, first-served basis. Recipients are responsible for pickup and planting. It’s a simple way to add beauty, shade, and environmental benefits to our community.
