KSB Celebrates 40th with Litter Cleanup and Volunteer Picnic

This past Saturday, more than 100 Keep Smyrna Beautiful volunteers hit the streets to pick up litter. Volunteers included more than a dozen Adopt-A-Mile groups and Community Cleanup volunteers.

Volunteer Appreciation Picnic

Afterward, volunteers met up at Tolleson Park for a Great American Cleanup volunteer appreciation picnic. Great American Cleanup is a national Keep America Beautiful initiative that runs from March 20 to June 20 each year and engages millions of volunteers across the country to pick up litter and participate in beautification projects.

KSB Recognized Top Volunteers

To recognize KSB’s milestone 40th Anniversary, we also took the opportunity to recognize individuals and groups for their outstanding contribution to KSB in the last year. These were presented by City of Smyrna Environmental Services Director and KSB Executive Director Julie Barwig. See full list of awards below.

The work of Keep Smyrna Beautiful would not be possible without the thousands of hours volunteers contribute every year, so we were glad to get the chance to say, “Thank you!”

With a full spread of food, lawn games, and good cheer, it certainly was a picnic to remember!
